EPU is a non governmental organization that has been founded to help secure and conserve our research heritage.
Why do we need a web site concerned with Egyptian Parasitologists?
EPU has been founded out of respect and need. Respect for our heritage as represented by the teachings and research of our former professors and mentors, and respect for our specialty:
The Science of Parasitology
The need is to preserve this vast local research context on the net and to record new advanced work to be made available for others, especially young Egyptians working in this field.
Although there are many specialized Egyptian journals facilitating the publishing of scientific research, we the founders felt there was need for a new project to collect as much as possible of this data with the aim of relaying it to as wide an audience as possible.
Being acutely aware of the deficiency of publications by Egyptian Parasitologists on the search-net, unless published by an international journal, the founders decided to start compiling this web site.
Departments of Parasitology belonging to all the Egyptian Universities and Institutes will be included under their respective logo. Egyptian Parasitologists abroad have their own logo. For your department to be equally represented please send us what is available of the following:
1- A short history of your department and the former chairpersons with photos if possible.
2- To start with the CV, a photo, and the list of publications for each staff member. Later perhaps we hope it will be possible to include abstracts of publications.
3- Any Reviews: Including those formerly presented to the Supreme Council Committees for promotion. These can be upgraded and published on EPU.
4- Any Lectures of compiled updated data.
5- Presentations by junior staff for the dissertation of M.Sc. or Ph.D. theses.
